Explore the Hidden Potential of URL Targeted Bids in PPV Advertising

One of the features of PPV advertising that most other types of advertising do not share is that it allows URL targeted bids. While this may seem to be a fairly simple feature to understand (seeing as it basically just means that you can bid on certain URLs), the truth is that there is much more to this gem of a feature than meets the eye... and mastering it will prove to be profitable!

Frankly speaking, URL targeted advertisements aren't exactly new. Way back when the internet was young, advertisement space was bought directly from certain websites for a fixed monthly fee. Essentially, this is the same type of targeting, but the manner in which it applies to PPV advertising is very different indeed.

Instead of buying advertisement space directly from a website, you're going to be bidding for the right to have your website pop up (or pop under) whenever a user on your PPV network goes to that site. Needless to say, pop ups (or unders!) are a lot more effective than just having banners appear, especially if you engineer your advertising to take advantage of this specific type of targeting.

As you should readily see, from a general point of view, this targeting is simple. If you were to bid for a mobile phone website and were to display mobile phone advertisements, then you've already achieved some level of targeted advertising. However why keep things so vague when you can really go a huge step further if you decide to...

Part of the beauty of URL targeting is that you don't just need to limit yourself to a simple base URL. So instead of bidding on www.mobilephones.com, you could bid on www.mobilephones.com/nokia3210.htm (with nokia 3210 being a type of mobile phone). Then, you could have your advertisement be specifically for the same model of mobile phone, at an even cheaper rate perhaps.

By doing this, you'll be intercepting users who are already looking up a specific item, and offering them an alternative -- provided they buy it from you!

Naturally, this is going to mean that your conversion rates should be pretty high.

Intercepting traffic in this manner is only part of the beauty of URL targeted bids. Matter of fact, you'll find that this method extends to traffic directed to any website, including things like YouTube videos, popular blogs, news websites, and even Google.com itself (though it will probably cost you quite a bit to bid on Google!).

Using the advantages of URL targeted bids is something that may take time to get used to, but once you do, you'll find that the sky is truly the limit!
